Verizon discounts

I have found that Verizon offers a senior discount for their cell phone service. In the New York Metro area it amounts to about a 25% reduction in the monthly charge. It has never been advertised here apparently just being instituted a month or so ago.
I do not know if this same discount is available in other parts of the country but I believe that you have to go to one of their stores in order to get the information, prove your age and get the discount.
